Millions across the Caribbean cope with Hurricane Melissa’s devastating aftermath
Hurricane Melissa, one of the most powerful Atlantic storms in recorded history, has left a trail of devastation across the Caribbean. It made landfall in Jamaica on Tuesday as a Category 5 storm, before tearing through Cuba (as a major hurricane) on Wednesday.

The latest IPC analysis shows hunger tightening its grip across the country, with more than 3.4 million people already in crisis levels of food insecurity, and 1.85 million children suffering acute malnutrition.
